Bringing Authentic Mexican Flavors to Your Kitchen

Hi, I’m Laura Muller, a proud Mexican-born and raised cook, journalist, and food creator passionate about sharing the rich culinary traditions of my homeland. I grew up in Chihuahua, Mexico, surrounded by the vibrant aromas and deep-rooted traditions of our cuisine. Cooking has always been more than just making food—it’s about preserving history, sharing love, and passing down flavors that connect us to our roots.

Through Food and Deals by Laura, I bring authentic, traditional Mexican recipes to people around the world, but especially to Hispanic families living in the United States. I know how important it is for Mexican-Americans and second or third-generation Latinos to reconnect with their heritage through food. Whether you’re craving your abuelita’s homemade barbacoa or trying to recreate the sopa de fideo con pollo you grew up eating, I’m here to guide you step by step.

For more than 14 years, I’ve dedicated my career to teaching people how to cook delicious and traditional Mexican food while also offering a modern, health-conscious twist. My recipes honor the rich history of Mexican cuisine while making them approachable and adaptable for today’s busy kitchens.

My Journey

I come from a long line of amazing home cooks, and my greatest inspiration was my abuelita Conchis, who had a magical way of turning simple ingredients into unforgettable meals. Her kitchen was a place of warmth, tradition, and storytelling—where spices weren’t just seasonings but pieces of our family’s history.

I believe that Mexican food is naturally balanced, full of fresh ingredients, vibrant flavors, and deep traditions. It’s more than just tacos and salsas—it’s a way of life. In Mexico, every meal is an experience, from the hearty soups we start with to the homemade tortillas that bring everything together.

I was about two years old in this photo, being held by my abuelita Conchis, the woman who inspired my love for cooking. To the left is my beautiful mom, who, funny enough, doesn’t enjoy cooking at all (lol!). And at the top is my great-grandmother, Quetita.

I want to help you bring that experience into your own kitchen, whether you’re making pozole for a holiday gathering, whipping up quick tacos for dinner, or simply craving the comforting flavors of home.
