Low-Fat Turkey Nuggets
Servings: 8
Prep time: 10 minutes
First, remember that all my recipes are made with health in mind, and these low-fat turkey nuggets are no exception.
This tasty recipe will surprise you with how appealing it is to any palate. If you’re following a plan to stick to The Challenge, these turkey nuggets will curb that junk food craving in a healthy, nutritious way.
We prepare these without frying, and you can boost them even further by mixing in vegetables (like carrots) with the ground turkey for extra texture and nutrients. This is a great trick when you want to sneak vegetables into your kids’ meals — they’ll eat healthy without even noticing!

While beef also provides nutrients our bodies need, it comes with a downside due to its fat content. Ground turkey, on the other hand, is rich in vitamins B2 and B3, and provides amino acids and minerals that are part of a balanced diet.
That’s why I recommend swapping beef for turkey — an ingredient you can also use in your favorite recipes like Turkey Burgers and Spaghetti Bolognese.
You can serve these light turkey nuggets with ketchup or your favorite light dressing. Check out the recipe below — it’s quick and easy.

Ingredients
- 300 g (about 10.5 oz) ground turkey
- 1 pinch cumin
- Salt to taste
- 1 pinch black pepper
- 1/2 tsp minced garlic
- 1 tbsp chopped cilantro
- 1 pinch oregano
- 1 egg
- 100 g (about 3/4 cup) all-purpose flour
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- Cooking spray
Instructions
- In a medium or large bowl, add the cumin, garlic, salt, pepper, cilantro, and oregano to the ground turkey. Mix well.
- Using your hands, shape into small balls.

- Coat each ball first in the egg, then in the flour, and finally in the breadcrumbs.
- Lightly coat a skillet with cooking spray, add the nuggets, and turn occasionally until golden brown on all sides. Done!

Tips and Substitutions
Serve with ketchup, mustard, or your favorite light dressing.
To sneak in veggies: add finely grated carrot to the turkey mixture for extra texture and nutrients without changing the flavor.
Prefer baking? Arrange the nuggets on a parchment-lined baking sheet, spray lightly with cooking spray, and bake at 400°F (200°C) for 15-18 minutes, flipping halfway through.
